Software
DAQ
The acquisition software is under the server, daq account, BTF_2011_cpu directory.
In order to run the acq you need to issue the command
- acquire -n #evts -p #frequency check -f #filename
in order to stop it while running you need to type
Analizer
The software for the data processing is being developed. Latest stable version can be found on the server under the daq account, BTF_2011_ana directory.
In order to process the data that has been acquired you can use the Analizer exec.
- To check for the run options you must type ./Analizer -help
- Most simple analizer is ./Analizer -in #datfile -out #rootfile -con #configfile
- CPU data can be found under the softlink data_cpu
Before processing the data to create tracks and study efficiencies/resolution, the t0s have to be determined. You can use the t0dch_new.C macro , after having properly edited the input and output files. The t0s are loaded in AnaTools.cc: the input are in AnaTools.h and are hardcoded TO BE CHANGED !!!
To produce the ST relations
- You need to enable the fit in the configuration file (see conf_140211.txt)
- On the output of the 'fitted' events you need to run a macro: Ex. root -b -q macro/STRelations_Btf.C\(\"st0\"\,2100) [to process the first round [flagged as st0, see the macro inside] @ 2100V]
- The output of the macro is a root file containing the Splines that needs to be used for the ST correction.
- The output file needs to be listed in a txt file (with relative path to where the user is running the Analizer) and fed to the next reconstruction round using the -str files_with_names_of_root_strel.txt option
- An example of a running cycle is
- ./Analizer -in list_2300.txt -iL -out rootfiles/ACQ_2300_st0.root -con conf_140211.txt [no st applied]
- root -b -q macro/STRelations_Btf.C\(\"st0\",2300\)
- The you need to create/add the spline file to the txt file: file_stlist_2300.txt
- ./Analizer -in list_2300.txt -iL -out rootfiles/ACQ_2300_st1.root -con conf_140211.txt -str file_stlist_2300.txt [applied ST rel.. the corrections applied are those contained in the files listed in the txt. those files need to be created with the STRelations_Btf macro]
- To check the residuals after fitting you can use a macro:Ex. root -b -q macro/Residual_Btf.C\(\"st0\",2100\)
Example for producing/running automated ST relations on full long data sample
- ls data_cpu/*long*dat > list_2200_long.txt

Trigger config: scintillators are @ 1.6 kV & 1.3 kV with thresholds @ 25 & 20 mV after splitting.
Mapping config: U view (flag 1) is the TOP view. V view (flag -1) is the SIDE view.

Eventi
- 14/02 Ore 16:00 Rate osservata ~10 Hz, Aspettata 15Hz.. Studio per capire l'efficienza di trigger... si cambiano le HV degli scintillatori
- 14/02 Ore 16:40 viene ritardato il segnale del palettone rispetto al plastic piccolo di 16ns
- 14/02 ore 18:25 viene allargato il fascio
- 14/02 notte: fascio down
- 15/02 ore 11:00 in attesa del fascio.... Controlliamo i piedistalli --> Fixed.
- 15/02 ore 11:10 Di nuovo fascio.... Proseguono gli studi degli RPC
- 15/02 ore 15:00 circa, tavola avvicinata di 45mm al calorimetro per fare spazio all'odoscopio di fascio
- 15/02 ore 15:50, il calorimetro non funziona bene alle basse energie, i dati a 150, 75, 25 MeV non sono utili per la cameretta, ma solo per la carica singola dell'RPC
- 15/02 ore 16:00, linac freq. = 50 Hz, en. = 150 MeV
- 15/02 ore 17:00, linac freq. = 50 Hz, en. = 75 MeV
- 15/02 ore 18:00, linac freq. = 50 Hz, en. = 25 MeV
- 15/02 ore 20:00, il calorimetro "prende luce da oggi pomeriggio", fare run a luci spente -> problema risolto coprendo con un panno il calorimetro
- 16/02 ore 08:50, fermo il fascio
- 16/02 ore 10:00, riparte il fascio
- 16/02 ore 10:30 stop di qualche minuto del fascio
- 16/02 ore 11:50, fascio fermo per qualche minuto
- 16/02 ore 15:00, Started the acq @ 2.2 kV with 45 mV Threshold
- 16/02 ore 22:50 Messa la cameretta in flusso con Ar/CO2=90/10 e ripristinate le thresholds a 15 mV
- 17/02 durante l'acquisizione di ACQ_90_10_1950.dat, tra le 7:30 e le 9, problemi sulla linea di fascio
- 17/02 dopo ACQ_90_10_1950ter.dat, installata la margherita ed arretrata la cameretta
- 17/02 h14:45 start del run ad alta intensita' per la margherita; cameretta tenuta a 1.95 kV, Threshold=15 mV con Ar/CO2=90/10
- 17/02 h17:50 disinstallata la cameretta e riposizionata la cameretta
- 18/02 mattina messa in flusso la cameretta con il P10 (Ar/CH4=90/10)
- 18/02 ACQ_P10_2000.dat solo 52 kevents on beam
- 18/02 in serata, frequenti spengimenti del quadrupolo B004
- 19/02 mattina: alzata la threshold della cameretta a 45 mV; segnali analogici in ingresso ai canali 0,1,2 del QDC attenuati di un fattore 2 (in uscita dal discriminatore entra-esci, quindi il TDC non ne risente)
- 19/02 14:15 messo in flusso RPC con P10 e la cameretta con Ar/CO2=80/20. Ripristinate thresholds a 15 mV sulla cameretta, tolta attenuazione ai canali 0,1,2 del QDC. Carica dell'RPC (canale 15 del QDC) attenuata di 1/4. Aggiunto segnale discriminato dell'RPC nel ch16 del convertitore NIM-ECL della CAEN e di qui al TDC (non importa sapere in che ch, tanto me misure con il P10 per l'RPC sono inutili)
- 19/02 17:20 HV(beam monitor)=2.2 kV, threshold=15 mV Ar/CO2=80/20 lanciato il run lungo (ACQ_2200_longxx.dat)
